Making for Change Training Programme
Making for Change offers ABC Level 1 and 2 in Fashion and Textiles, along with enterprise training and employment support.
London College of Fashion, UAL is working in partnership with Newham College to deliver a Fashion Production training programme in its professional manufacturing unit, ‘Making for Change’ at Poplar Works. This training will provide learners with an understanding and knowledge of garment construction techniques used in the industry to build confidence, skills and professional experience.
Learners will be enrolled as Newham College students and will have access to all the support and resources that will help participants reach their full potential. Students are supported by Making for Change to improve their skills through professional development and work experience opportunities.
Making for Change offers two qualifications:
ABC Introductory Certificate in Fashion and Textiles – Level 1
Level 1 provides learners with specialist knowledge and skills, based on current industry practice, and prepares them to progress onto further qualifications or employment opportunities.
ABC Intermediate Certificate in Fashion and Textiles – Level 2
Level 2 provides learners with a deeper knowledge and understanding of garment construction, using current industry practice and skills. Learners will also become acquainted with techniques and processes used with different fabric types supported by basic pattern-cutting skills.
